Full band rehearsals begin this week! Returning band will meet today (Monday), and Beginning Band will meet on Wednesday. Both rehearsals are from 3:25-4:25 p.m. in the Music Room at Christ the King School.
Paperwork: Band Handbooks went home at lessons last night. Please read the handbook with your student, and sign and return the last 2 pages to full band this week. Finally, due to a copying issue, some of the handbooks contain blank pages. There should be 7 pages of text, with the following headings: Welcome, Band Descriptions, Concert Attire, Bandlink Behavior Contract, Bandlink Schedule – Fall 2009, Bandlink Agreement and Instrument Information Form, and Bandlink Program – Minors. If your Handbook does not contain all of those pages, you may obtain another copy from the Bandlink Directors.
ND Band Rehearsals: Come out and watch the Notre Dame Band rehearse! The Notre Dame Marching Band practices on Mondays from 5:45-7:00, and Tuesday-Thursday from 6:30 -8:00. The Band practices on a parking lot, just south of Notre Dame Stadium. On Home Game Fridays, the Band will march from the Dome to the practice field at 5:00 and rehearse until approximately 6:00. Come see your mentors perform and hear the oldest marching band in the U.S! (Please note that rehearsal locations and times may change due to weather or other circumstances).
Bandlink lessons will begin this Sunday, September 27 at 6:30 p.m. at Holy Cross School. Lessons will conclude at 7:30 p.m. All students should report to the cafeteria when they arrive.
Returning Band Parents – There will be a brief meeting in the Holy Cross Cafeteria around 6:45 (or 15 minutes after lessons begin) on Sunday night. Make plans to attend to receive important information and paperwork, including the schedule and Bandlink Handbook.
Full band rehearsals will begin next week - Returning Band on September 28th and Beginning Band on September 30th. Refer to the calendar page for more details.

The Bandlink Beginner Meeting will be held tonight, Monday, September 21 at 7:30 p.m. at the Ricci Band Rehearsal Hall on the Notre Dame campus.
Parking will be available in the lot just north of the Band Building, or in the lots just east of Hesburgh Library.
Ricci Band Building is located just east of the Jordan Hall of Science, and just north of Rolfs Sports Recreation Complex. It is Building #1100 on a campus map.
For all of those Holy Cross, Christ the King, and Michiana Christian Homeschool Band students wishing to join Bandlink this year, an information meeting and instrument try-out night will be held this coming Monday, September 21 at 7:30 pm. The meeting will be held in the Middle Room at the Ricci Band Rehearsal Hall on the Notre Dame campus.
Parents and students are invited to attend to learn more about the Bandlink program, see instrument demonstrations by Notre Dame band students, and try out instruments! The meeting will last no more than 1 hour.
Welcome back! Hope everyone is off to a good start for the 2009-2010 school year. Preparations are underway for a great year in Bandlink!
Mark down Sunday, September 27th on your calendar for the first week of Bandlink lessons. More information will be available for both new and returning students in the coming weeks, including information on beginning and returning student and parent meetings.
The ND Band has 1 final concert this semester! The Concert Band’s annual Commencement Concert will be held Friday, May 15 at 5:30 p.m. in Leighton Hall at the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center. This is a free, but ticketed event, and should last about 1 hour.
